Welcome to CAYRE.
These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the CAYRE website, marketplace, CAYRE Wallet, Smart Lockers and related services.
By creating an account or using CAYRE, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
Please read these Terms carefully before using CAYRE.
About CAYRE
CAYRE is a locally owned online marketplace based in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.
CAYRE provides a platform that allows users to list, discover, buy and sell eligible items locally.
CAYRE also provides access to Smart Lockers located at selected locations across Grand Cayman. These lockers are designed to facilitate convenient exchanges between buyers and sellers without requiring them to arrange an in person meeting.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, CAYRE acts as the marketplace and transaction facilitator. Items listed on the platform are generally sold by individual users or businesses rather than by CAYRE itself.
Accepting These Terms
By creating a CAYRE account, listing an item, purchasing an item, using a CAYRE Smart Locker or otherwise using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use CAYRE.
CAYRE Accounts
Users must create an account to access certain CAYRE features.
When creating an account, you agree to provide information that is accurate, complete and current.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless you have notified CAYRE that your account has been compromised.
You must not create an account using false information or impersonate another person or business.
CAYRE reserves the right to restrict, suspend or close accounts where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or where action is reasonably necessary to protect CAYRE or its community.
Community Standards
CAYRE is built around trust, kindness and respect.
By using CAYRE, you agree to treat other users respectfully and honestly.
Users must not:
- Harass, threaten or abuse another user
- Intentionally mislead buyers or sellers
- Provide fraudulent information
- Manipulate ratings or reviews
- Attempt to defraud another user
- Misuse another user's personal information
- Use CAYRE for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to interfere with the website, Smart Lockers or security systems
- Circumvent CAYRE's transaction process to avoid applicable fees
CAYRE may take appropriate action where a user acts in a way that threatens the safety, trust or integrity of the community.
Selling on CAYRE
Sellers are responsible for ensuring that their listings accurately represent the item being sold.
Listings should contain clear photographs and an accurate description of the item's condition, size, characteristics and any significant defects.
By listing an item, the seller confirms that:
- They own the item or are legally authorised to sell it
- The item can legally be sold in the Cayman Islands
- The description is accurate to the best of their knowledge
- The photographs reasonably represent the actual item
- Any significant damage, defects or issues have been disclosed
- The item will fit safely within one of CAYRE's available Smart Locker sizes, including packaging, or the seller has selected the oversized item option for an in person exchange, subject to CAYRE's approval
- The item is available for sale
Sellers must not knowingly provide false or misleading information.
Items That Cannot Be Sold
Certain products are not permitted on CAYRE.
Prohibited items may include:
- Illegal goods
- Stolen goods
- Counterfeit goods
- Weapons or dangerous items
- Controlled substances
- Prescription medication
- Hazardous materials
- Items that infringe intellectual property rights
- Items that cannot legally be bought or sold in the Cayman Islands
- Oversized items offered for sale without the required CAYRE approval for an in person exchange
- Any other item CAYRE determines is inappropriate or unsafe for the platform
CAYRE reserves the right to remove listings that breach these requirements.
Repeated or serious violations may result in account restrictions or closure.
Smart Locker Sizes & Oversized Items
Items exchanged through CAYRE Smart Lockers must fit safely inside the selected compartment, including their packaging.
Sellers are responsible for checking the locker dimensions and selecting the appropriate size when listing an item.
Items that are too large for the available Smart Lockers may be sold through CAYRE using an in person exchange. Sellers must select the oversized item option when creating their listing. Oversized listings require CAYRE admin review and approval before they appear for sale.
For an approved oversized item, the buyer and seller must agree on a suitable time and place to meet using CAYRE's messaging service. Oversized items must not be forced into a Smart Locker.
Payment for an in person exchange must still be completed through CAYRE's checkout at the agreed price. Users must not require cash or another payment outside CAYRE, or pressure the other party to pay a different price at the exchange.
Buyers should inspect the item at the exchange and confirm receipt through CAYRE once they have received it. CAYRE's applicable fees, Wallet, refund and dispute terms continue to apply to in person exchanges.
CAYRE may provide locker measurements and guidance on the website to help sellers determine whether an item is suitable for locker collection or requires an in person exchange.
Completing a Sale
When an item is purchased for Smart Locker collection, the seller will receive instructions explaining how to complete the Smart Locker drop off.
For Smart Locker collection, the seller must deliver the correct item to the selected CAYRE Smart Locker within the timeframe provided.
For Smart Locker collection, the seller is responsible for:
- Selecting an appropriate locker size
- Packaging the item appropriately
- Depositing the correct item
- Following the Smart Locker instructions
- Ensuring the locker door is properly closed
- Completing the required delivery process
Sellers should not place unrelated items, prohibited items or hazardous materials inside a CAYRE Smart Locker.
Arranging an oversized item exchange
An oversized item must have CAYRE approval before it is offered for sale. The buyer and seller must agree the exchange date, time and location through CAYRE messaging and keep any changes recorded there. Agree in advance who will arrange transport, lifting or help moving the item. Neither party should attempt an exchange they cannot complete safely.
Choose a safe, suitable meeting location, preferably a public place where practical. If collection from a property is necessary, agree safe access in advance and consider having another trusted adult present. Do not share account passwords, payment details or locker access codes to arrange an exchange.
The seller must check the order's paid status within CAYRE before handing over the item. A screenshot or message claiming payment is not a substitute for the order status. Payment must stay on CAYRE at the agreed price; neither party may demand cash, an extra payment outside CAYRE or a different price at the meeting.
Seller confirmation of handover
The seller must hand over the correct item and agreed accessories to the buyer. Both parties should check that they are completing the correct CAYRE order. Do not leave the item unattended or with someone else unless the buyer has expressly agreed to the arrangement through CAYRE messaging.
After the actual handover, the seller must confirm drop off or handover through CAYRE and record the actual exchange date and time. The seller must not confirm a handover that has not taken place, backdate it or mark a missed meeting as completed. If a confirmation is made by mistake, contact CAYRE promptly and explain the error.
Seller confirmation alone does not release the sale proceeds. Funds remain pending until the buyer confirms receipt and any relevant dispute or payment hold has been resolved.
Buyer confirmation within 48 hours
The buyer should inspect the item and its accessories at the exchange, with reasonable time to check the condition against the listing. The buyer must confirm receipt through CAYRE within 48 hours of the actual in person exchange. This period starts when the item is actually handed over, not when the seller schedules the meeting or records an uncompleted handover.
The buyer should confirm promptly once they have received and checked the item. Do not confirm receipt before receiving the item, or allow another person to operate your account to confirm it. A seller must not pressure a buyer to confirm an item they have not received or before they have had a reasonable opportunity to check it.
If the item has not been received, is incorrect, has an undisclosed problem or the exchange time is disputed, the buyer must report the issue to CAYRE as soon as possible, preferably within the same 48 hour period, rather than confirm an inaccurate or disputed handover. Include the order ID and a clear account of what happened. If a technical problem prevents confirmation or reporting, contact CAYRE through the available support channel promptly and keep a record of the problem.
The expiry of 48 hours is not automatic confirmation and does not automatically release the seller's funds. If the buyer has neither confirmed nor reported an issue, the seller should contact CAYRE. CAYRE will review the outstanding confirmation and contact the parties as appropriate. A seller's statement or photograph alone does not replace buyer confirmation for releasing sale proceeds.
Evidence of the exchange
We recommend keeping clear photographs of the item, its condition, packaging and accessories before and at handover, along with CAYRE messages recording the agreed arrangements and actual exchange time. Keep original files and any relevant order references or written acknowledgment of handover so that they can be supplied if a dispute arises.
If you want to photograph the interaction or another person, explain the purpose and obtain their agreement first. Focus on the item where possible and avoid capturing faces, identity documents, addresses, children or unrelated bystanders. Do not make participation in a photograph a condition of receiving the item; photographs of the item and written messages can also support an exchange record.
Share evidence privately with CAYRE when requested for an investigation. Do not publish another person's information or use photographs to threaten, embarrass or pressure them. Evidence must be genuine and must not be altered to misrepresent the exchange. CAYRE will consider the evidence in context; a photograph is not conclusive proof by itself, and the absence of photographs does not automatically decide a dispute.
Missed, cancelled or unsafe exchanges
If either party cannot attend, notify the other through CAYRE and agree a new time where possible. If the exchange does not take place, neither party should mark it as completed and the buyer's 48 hour receipt-confirmation period does not start.
If an exchange feels unsafe, an item is refused or the parties cannot agree how to proceed, stop the exchange and contact CAYRE for assistance. Cancellation, return and refund requests must be handled through CAYRE; users must not arrange an off-platform payment to settle the order.
Buyer Collection
Once the seller has successfully deposited the order into the Smart Locker, the buyer will receive collection information from CAYRE.
This may include the Smart Locker location and a unique collection code or other access credentials.
For Smart Locker orders, buyers have 36 hours from the time the collection notification is issued to collect their order unless CAYRE states otherwise.
Buyers are responsible for keeping their collection code secure.
Collection codes should not be shared with unauthorised persons.
For approved oversized items, buyers collect directly from the seller at the agreed time and place. The 36 hour Smart Locker collection window does not apply to these in person exchanges. Instead, the buyer must confirm receipt within 48 hours of the actual exchange, or promptly report an issue to CAYRE, as described under Completing a Sale.
Failure to Collect an Item
For Smart Locker orders, buyers are responsible for collecting their purchase within the stated 36 hour collection window.
If an item is not collected within the required timeframe, access to the locker may expire.
CAYRE may contact the buyer and seller to determine the appropriate next steps.
Additional arrangements may be required to remove, return or redeliver an uncollected item.
CAYRE reserves the right to introduce reasonable charges associated with repeated failures to collect items or additional handling caused by an expired collection period.
Any applicable charges will be communicated before they are imposed.
Reviewing Your Purchase
Buyers should review their item promptly after collection.
If the item is materially different from the listing, damaged in a way that was not disclosed, incorrect or otherwise subject to a genuine issue, the buyer should notify CAYRE as soon as reasonably possible through the available support or dispute process.
Buyers may be asked to provide photographs, communications or other reasonable evidence relating to the issue.
CAYRE may review information from both the buyer and seller when assisting with a dispute.
Ratings & Reviews
After completing a transaction, users may be given the opportunity to rate and review their experience with the specific user involved in the transaction.
Reviews should reflect the user's genuine experience.
Reviews must not contain:
- Threatening or abusive content
- Discriminatory content
- Knowingly false information
- Unnecessary personal information
- Advertising or spam
- Content unrelated to the transaction
CAYRE reserves the right to remove reviews that breach these standards.
CAYRE Fees
CAYRE may charge a commission or transaction fee when an item is successfully sold.
The applicable fee will be displayed or communicated through the platform.
CAYRE may change its fees from time to time.
Where a change affects future transactions, the updated fee will apply to transactions completed after the change takes effect.
By listing and selling an item through CAYRE, the seller agrees that applicable CAYRE fees may be deducted from the sale amount before the seller's proceeds are credited to their CAYRE Wallet.
CAYRE Wallet
Each CAYRE user account will include access to a personal CAYRE Wallet.
When a seller completes an eligible sale, the seller's proceeds will be credited to their CAYRE Wallet after applicable CAYRE fees, refunds, adjustments or other authorised deductions have been taken into account.
The CAYRE Wallet allows users to view available credits and relevant transaction activity.
Available Wallet credits may be used within CAYRE where this functionality is offered or may be withdrawn to a nominated bank account.
CAYRE Wallet credits cannot be transferred between CAYRE users unless CAYRE expressly introduces this functionality.
Users must not attempt to sell, exchange or otherwise transfer CAYRE Wallet credits outside the functionality provided by CAYRE.
When Sale Credits Become Available
Sale proceeds remain pending until the buyer confirms receipt through CAYRE and any relevant dispute or payment hold has been resolved. For an oversized in person exchange, the seller must also record the completed handover. Seller confirmation alone, or the expiry of the buyer's 48 hour confirmation period, does not release funds. Pending credits cannot be spent or withdrawn.
CAYRE may temporarily withhold or restrict access to sale credits where:
- A transaction is disputed
- A refund is being considered or processed
- Fraud or suspicious activity is suspected
- A payment has been reversed
- A chargeback has been received
- CAYRE reasonably needs to investigate the transaction
- CAYRE is required to do so by law, a bank, payment provider or regulatory authority
Once the relevant issue has been resolved, eligible funds will be released where appropriate.
Withdrawing CAYRE Wallet Credits
Users may request to withdraw available CAYRE Wallet credits to a bank account of their choice.
To process a withdrawal, the user must provide the banking information reasonably required to complete the transfer.
This may include:
- Full name of the account holder
- Bank name
- Bank account number
- Any other information reasonably required by Cayman National Bank or the relevant receiving financial institution
The user is responsible for ensuring that all banking information provided is complete and accurate.
CAYRE is not responsible for delays or failed transfers resulting from incorrect, incomplete or outdated banking information supplied by the user.
Withdrawal Processing Time
CAYRE allows up to 48 hours to process a valid Wallet withdrawal request.
This period relates to CAYRE's processing of the withdrawal.
Once CAYRE has initiated the transfer, the receiving bank may require additional time to credit the funds to the user's account.
Bank processing times are outside CAYRE's direct control.
Weekends, public holidays, banking interruptions, compliance reviews or incorrect banking information may affect the time required for funds to appear.
Wallet Adjustments
In limited circumstances, CAYRE may need to make an adjustment to a user's Wallet.
This may occur where:
- A transaction has been refunded
- A payment has been reversed
- A chargeback has occurred
- Credits were added in error
- Fraudulent activity is identified
- A transaction is cancelled
- An administrative or technical error needs to be corrected
Where reasonably possible, CAYRE will maintain records explaining Wallet adjustments.
Payments
Buyer payments are processed using CAYRE's approved payment processing arrangements.
CAYRE currently uses Cayman National Bank's ecommerce merchant services and approved payment technology providers to facilitate online payments.
Payment processing may be subject to additional terms, security procedures and requirements imposed by the relevant bank or payment provider.
CAYRE does not guarantee that every payment method or transaction will be accepted.
A transaction may be rejected or delayed by a bank or payment provider for reasons outside CAYRE's control.
Refunds & Disputes
CAYRE aims to provide a fair process for genuine transaction issues.
A buyer should contact CAYRE promptly if an item:
- Is materially different from its listing
- Is the wrong item
- Has significant undisclosed damage
- Appears to be counterfeit
- Was not properly delivered through the CAYRE process
CAYRE may request reasonable evidence from the buyer and seller.
Where appropriate, CAYRE may temporarily restrict the relevant Wallet credits while a dispute is reviewed.
The outcome of a dispute may depend on the information available, the original listing, communications between the users, photographs and other relevant evidence.
Investigating an in person exchange
If a buyer says they never received an item, or either party disputes the handover, CAYRE will investigate further. Relevant sale proceeds will remain on hold while an unresolved dispute is reviewed. Both parties should provide the order ID, the exchange date, time and location, their account of events, relevant CAYRE messages and any photographs or other supporting evidence.
CAYRE may contact both parties, examine the listing and transaction records, request further information and communicate a reasonable response deadline. Users must cooperate honestly. Neither a missed response deadline nor one party's confirmation automatically proves the other party's account of events.
Depending on the findings, CAYRE may ask the parties to clarify or correct the exchange record, arrange a handover or return, or process an appropriate cancellation or refund. A completed, undisputed sale still requires buyer confirmation before the seller's proceeds become available. CAYRE will communicate the outcome and any required next steps through the available account or support channels. Users may contact CAYRE with relevant additional evidence if they believe material information was overlooked.
Do not return an item, dispose of it or arrange a replacement exchange without agreeing the next steps through CAYRE. If a return is agreed, record the arrangements and retain evidence of the return handover. Any refund will account for how the original order was paid, including CAYRE Wallet credits where used.
Knowingly false confirmations, fabricated evidence or dishonest claims may lead to account restrictions under these Terms. Reporting an issue in good faith does not itself amount to misuse.
The 48 hour confirmation requirement does not remove rights or remedies available under applicable law. Buyers should still report an issue discovered later as soon as possible. Any refund process will also be subject to applicable Cayman Islands law.
Cancellations
A seller should not list an item unless they genuinely intend and are able to complete the sale.
Repeated cancellations may negatively affect the CAYRE community and may result in account restrictions.
CAYRE may cancel a transaction where necessary due to technical issues, suspected fraud, prohibited activity, an unavailable item or another reasonable operational or safety concern.
Smart Locker Access
CAYRE Smart Lockers are provided exclusively for authorised CAYRE transactions and other uses expressly approved by CAYRE.
Users must not:
- Attempt to force open a locker
- Damage or tamper with a locker
- Attempt to access another user's compartment
- Share access credentials with unauthorised persons
- Place dangerous or prohibited items inside a locker
- Interfere with the locker software, screen or operating system
- Use the lockers for transactions outside the authorised CAYRE process
Suspected criminal activity may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Locker Availability
CAYRE aims to maintain reliable Smart Locker availability but cannot guarantee that every locker location or compartment size will be available at all times.
A locker may become temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, capacity, technical problems, power interruptions, internet connectivity or circumstances outside CAYRE's reasonable control.
Where possible, CAYRE may provide an alternative locker or instructions.
Responsibility for Items
Sellers remain responsible for ensuring that the correct item is packaged appropriately and deposited into the correct Smart Locker or, for an approved oversized item, handed directly to the buyer at the agreed in person exchange.
Buyers are responsible for collecting their order within the specified Smart Locker collection period or at the agreed time for an in person exchange and securing the item after collection.
CAYRE will take reasonable measures to operate and maintain its Smart Locker service.
CAYRE's responsibility for loss, damage or other issues will be subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the particular transaction.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Local Businesses
CAYRE may allow local businesses to create accounts, list eligible products or otherwise participate in the marketplace.
Businesses using CAYRE remain responsible for complying with any laws, licences, consumer obligations, tax requirements or other requirements applicable to their business.
Advertising
CAYRE may display advertising from local businesses and other approved advertisers across the CAYRE website and Smart Locker screens.
The appearance of an advertisement on CAYRE does not necessarily constitute an endorsement or guarantee of the advertiser, its products or its services.
Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that the content they provide is accurate and lawful.
Advertising arrangements may be governed by separate advertising terms agreed between CAYRE and the advertiser.
Privacy & Personal Information
CAYRE collects and processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable Cayman Islands data protection requirements.
This may include account information, contact details, transaction information, Smart Locker activity and banking information required for Wallet withdrawals.
Users should review the CAYRE Privacy Policy for further information about how personal information is collected, used, stored and protected.
Intellectual Property
The CAYRE name, branding, logos, website design, graphics, text and other original CAYRE materials are owned by or licensed to CAYRE unless otherwise stated.
Users must not copy, reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit CAYRE intellectual property without permission.
Users retain responsibility for photographs, descriptions and other content they upload.
By uploading content to CAYRE, you give CAYRE permission to display and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote and improve the marketplace.
Fraud & Suspicious Activity
CAYRE reserves the right to investigate activity that appears fraudulent, suspicious or inconsistent with these Terms.
During an investigation, CAYRE may temporarily:
- Restrict an account
- Remove a listing
- Pause a transaction
- Restrict a Wallet withdrawal
- Hold relevant sale credits
- Request additional information
Where appropriate, CAYRE may cooperate with Cayman National Bank, payment providers, law enforcement agencies or regulatory authorities.
Account Suspension & Closure
CAYRE may restrict, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary.
Reasons may include:
- Serious or repeated breaches of these Terms
- Fraud or attempted fraud
- Sale of prohibited goods
- Abusive behaviour
- Misuse of Smart Lockers
- Manipulation of reviews
- Attempts to avoid CAYRE fees
- Unauthorised access to CAYRE systems
- Legal or regulatory requirements
Where appropriate, CAYRE may provide the user with information about the reason for the action.
Closing or restricting an account does not automatically remove outstanding obligations relating to completed transactions, disputes, refunds or other amounts legitimately due.
Service Availability
CAYRE aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee that the website, Wallet, payment systems or Smart Lockers will operate without interruption.
Maintenance, updates, third party services, internet interruptions, banking systems and circumstances outside CAYRE's reasonable control may temporarily affect availability.
CAYRE may modify, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary.
Changes to CAYRE
CAYRE is a growing platform and its services may change over time.
We may introduce new features, locker locations, payment options, fees or marketplace functionality.
Where changes materially affect these Terms, CAYRE may update the Terms and publish a revised version on the website.
Changes to These Terms
CAYRE may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The latest version will be published on the CAYRE website with an updated revision date.
Users should review the Terms periodically.
Where appropriate, significant changes may also be communicated through the website, email or another reasonable method.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands.
Any dispute relating to these Terms, CAYRE or the use of the platform will be subject to the applicable laws and jurisdiction of the Cayman Islands.
